The following EWM related/relevant activities have taken place in Portugal in the 2023-24 reporting period:

2023

•   The third edition of the Women in Mathematics Meeting (WM23) in Portugal was held at the University of Coimbra from the 24th to 26th of July 2023.
•   Exhibition Women of Mathematics from around the world – a gallery of portraits, Department of Mathematics, University of Coimbra, 2nd floor, Coimbra, from July 24 to November 24, 2023.
•   Communication of statistics with 2023 data about the gender balance in the portuguese mathematical scientific community, by Sofia B.S.D. Castro and Margarida Mendes Lopes, updating the statistics published in the article by Sofia B.S.D. Castro and Margarida Mendes Lopes, Um retrato das mulheres matemáticas em Portugal, Boletim da SPM, n.76, Dezembro 2018, pp.181– 192 (English translation here).

  2024

•   Exhibition Women of Mathematics from around the world – a gallery of portraits, Department of Mathematics, University of Minho, Braga, from January 2024.
•   Participation with a small report about Portugal in The EWM Flash #3, “Women in Maths across Europe”.

  Facebook group European Women in Mathematics (Portugal) for promotion, information management and discussion in the Facebook group of Portuguese mathematical women, in particular, dissemination of events, awards, scholarships and courses in the area of Mathematics (moderator: Catarina Lucas).
