Nominations are invited for the 2018 Diploma and Master’s thesis award of the SFB/Transregio 154 “Mathematical Modeling, Simulation and Optimization using the Example of Gas Networks”. Eligible for submission are Master’s and Diploma theses that have been completed at a German or foreign university and that cover interdisciplinary work on mathematical modeling, simulation and optimization with scientific rigor. To be considered, the thesis has to be written in English or German and has to be handed in between July 1, 2017 and June 30, 2018 at the respective university. A subject close to the topic of gas transport is preferable, but not necessary.

The deadline for submission is June 30, 2018. The award ceremony takes place during the international conference “Mathematics of Gas Transport  (MOG) – 2018” to be held October 10 and October 11, 2018 in Berlin, Germany. On this occasion, the successful applicants are expected to present their award-winning theses at a poster. The award is accompanied with 600 EUR in order to cover travel and accommodation for the conference. The TRR154 will award up to two prizes. Apart from scientific excellence appropriate representation of the applicant’s demographic will be a consideration.
