Young Researcher Prize for Elisa Lorenzo Garcia
Elisa Lorenzo Garcia (Université de Rennes), president of the Committee Women and Mathematics of the RSME (Royal Spanish Mathematical Society), has been awarded the I Prize Young Researcher “Julio Peláez a las Mujeres Pioneras de la Física, la Química y las Matemáticas” of the Fundacion Tatiana.
Elisa’s main research focus is in arithmetic geometry, a discipline that is at the common frontier of number theory and algebraic geometry which has found many applications in cryptography and coding theory. Her area of expertise is that of algebraic curves.
